  1. i have chosen this article http://www.argentinaindependent.com/life-style/sport/the-indy-guide-to-team-argentina-in-the-paralympics/; its about the famous paralympics. This article talks the history of the paralympics created by Dr. Ludwig Guttman, who believed strongly in using sport as therapy for people who were injured during War. There ares many sports at the paralympics, and in the article talks about the most famous as athletics, wheelchair tennis and swimming.

i have chosen this article becouse i love sports and i think that its important that people who cant practise the sports as it has to be, they try to find a way to to do it on their own way.

  2. http://www.argentinaindependent.com/top-5/top-5-ways-to-blend-in-as-a-porteno/

This article talks about the top-five argentian (Buenos Aires's, really) trends or habits, maybe not as common in other countrys. Some of those are public displays of affection, late night life, a lot of sweets in the diary diet (as well as meat and cheese), therapist consultation, and wearing shoes with platforms.

I choose this article because I find how foreigners perceive our traditions or habits interasting. I mean, as we live here, it all seems pretty normal for us, but that's not the case for someone who's not been raised here. However, I think wearing shoes with platforms should not be in a top five hahaha. Brewing mate should be there instead!

  3. http://www.argentinaindependent.com/currentaffairs/chile-massive-student-protest-turns-violent/

This article attracted me because it's about students like me and they are demanding a reform to Chile’s national education system.
It's not my country but is important.
The article mention one thing very interesting for me and it's this: "Now, it favours expensive private schools that are out of the reach of the poor". It's unfair but it is the reality and read it at least for me it's hard.

The students made a march ended in a concert. Then, as always, it turns into violence with the police included

    1. Very interesting choice, Malena. It's very sad to see what is happening to education in Chile. I think it makes us appreciate our education system, too...

  6. I choose this article: http://www.argentinaindependent.com/travel/la-cantera-a-tranquil-jungle-getaway/

It talks about a jungle lodge that is in Misiones, near the Iguazú waterfalls. It is like a hotel, with wood bildings and a huge pool. It's very comfortable and it's very well located because is near the airport, the national park and the town. I've choosen this article because I always liked travelling and meeting new places. Also, Cataratas is a place I like to know some day.
I noticed the photo of the article too, and I felt very relax and I would like beeing that way in this part of the year. Holidays are never wrong anytime!

(teacher look that I also commented file sharing, Olympics and best of…)

  7. http://www.argentinaindependent.com/top-story/alejandra-pizarnik-the-darkest-legacy-left/

This article talks about Alejandra Pizarnik, a memorable Argentinian poet, which was included in the 'Beyond Borges' series of books, published by The Argentina Independent biweekly. The article explained Alejandra’s lifestyle and writing legacy. She studied Philosophy and Letters at UBA (Universidad de Buenos Aires) and also studied painting with Juan Batlle Planas, a surrealist painter. She dropped her studied because she said that she wasn’t finding what she was looking for. She travelled to Paris twice in her life and was also a very good friend of Julio Cortázar.

She had a really troublesome relationship with her poetry, finding the words of the language not enough to express her own feelings. In this way she created a new style of writing, omitting punctuation and using ambiguous metaphors, using only one word in the same line to cause ambiguity in the reader. She wrote a wide variety of poetry books, and wrote an only prose book called ‘La condesa sangrienta’.

She had always been a really depressed person – she attempted suicide in 1970, and finally ended up her own life because of a sedative overdose in 1972. In her writings, it can be seen clearly her relationship with madness, fear of madness, depression and her connection to her inner darkness.

I choose this article because I love literature & poetry, plus, I’m really keen on Alejandra’s poetry. Her style is so unique and dark – but has a lot of reflexive moments too! I also liked her because she is from Argentina, and I like to know about important writers of my own country.

  8. http://www.argentinaindependent.com/the-arts/art/on-now-pop-realismos-y-politica/

The article is about an exhibition located in La Boca, Argentina. This exhibition is organized by PROA and it´s about Argentine and Brazilian pop art in the 1960s. There you can see the political, social and cultural violence of the era.

I choose this article beacause I like art and is interesting how it is mixed with politics.
