What is the difference between city people and our country counterparts?

Read some differences between a city resident and a country resident .-

A. Which do you think is the best and which one is the worst? Why?

B. Choose one which might be offensive for some people and explain why.

1)

A country resident never hesitates to knock on their neighbour's door - if
only for a coffee and a friendly chat.
A city resident never answers their door fearing it could reveal:
a) someone who'll try to convert them to a little-understood religion;
b) a neighbor seeking a charitable donation;
c) a gang of ruthless home invaders.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2)

A country person stops for anyone who's stranded beside a broken-down vehicle and provides a lift to the nearest service station (Believe it or not, service stations do still indeed exist - but mainly in the country).

A city person slows down, locks the car doors and makes hand-signals to the stranded motorist that he'll use a cell phone to call a tow truck.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3)

A city dweller spends $1,500 to install a state-of-the art home security system and another $25 a month to have it monitored by a company 24 hours a day.

A country resident buys a dog - or gets one free from a neighbor who's more than thankful to part with one of eight new pups.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4)

City folks boast about how much theatre, film, sports and fine dining their metropolis offers - but are too tired to ever go out after their long work week.

Stir-crazy country folks cram all of their friends and relatives into a pickup and happily drive 300 km to catch an NHL exhibition game, no matter how tired everyone is.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5)

Country people personally know each person from every family who lives within a 500 sq. km area.

City folks don't know the person across the street - and probably think they're a little weird anyway.

  1. 1)I think that the best is number 3 because you save a lot of money but i think that the worst is the number 5 because the people in the city are rabble.

    2)Number one should be quite offensive for some people because there are people that doesn't act like that

  2. A. I think number 5 is the best because is a reality, in the city you know probably less than the 2% of the people 500 sq. km area and in the countryside you know everyone.
    I think the worst is number 1 because everyone answer the door if someone is knocking

    B. Numer 1 is offensive because:

    a) someone who'll try to convert them to a little-understood religion;
    b) a neighbor seeking a charitable donation;
    c) a gang of ruthless home invaders.

    they deserve to be answer.

  3. 1. I think that number 5 is the best because is for sure what happen to all of us. We don't know and mainly don't care about the people in our neighborhood. The worst in my opinion is number 4 because living in the country doesn't mean that the work you do leaves you more tried.

    2. In my opinion number 1 is the offensive one beacuse it assumed a fact that it's not true. If someone knocks on the door is a demostration of respect to open it, no matter where we live.

  4. 1- I think that number 5 is the best because it is true! In the city we dont know everybody and we always judge a new person before we really know him or her. And number 4 is the worst. Personally I dont think that the city people dont use to go to cinemas, theatres or exhibitions games, we are not always grumpy! We also enjoy from our places.

    2- Number 3 is offensive! I know a lot of people who lives in the city who adopts pets and help to find them a home.

  6. 1.I think that number 5 is the best because in the city people lives taking care and thinking on their life and they just don't care about their neighbours. I more than judging I think. And the worst is number 1 because if somebody is knocking he probably needs something, and everybody answer the door when that happens.

    2. I think that number 2 is offensive because we are all humans and we will help somebody who needs it. I mean not everybody will react like that.
